Raw Milk Freedom Riders Elicit Pledge from FDA Not to Enforce Interstate Ban on Individuals: The scene at the Maryland - Pennsylvania border was almost surrealistic. There, in a beautifully sunny pastoral countryside, under a sign welcoming people to Maryland, about 50 people posed, some holding bottles of milk, others cheering.

A southern Ontario dairy farmer said Wednesday he'll appeal a decision finding him guilty on 15 of 19 charges related to the sale and distribution of raw milk.
Michael Schmidt had been acquitted of all charges by Justice of the Peace Paul Kowarsky in January 2010, but the Ontario government and the Grey Bruce Health Unit appealed that decision.

 Even though Michael Schmidt, the now celebrated Ontario Raw Milk farmer was acquitted in January 2010 of all 19 raw milk related charges arising from the November 2006 raid on his Glencolton Farms, the Province of Ontario filed an appeal of that verdict.

The Ploy of Soy ~ Commercial pasteurized milk products have been linked to a number of disease conditions including allergies, asthma, arthritis, diabetes, auto immune diseases, childhood anemia, heart disease and cancer. Many have turned to soy products as substitutes for dairy products. A couple of weeks ago, the newspaper in Owen Sound, Ontario ran an op/ed piece entitled  "Society has said no to raw milk" which was a lame regurgitation of the central dairy party line. Below is Michael Schmidt's reply: "Society has said yes to raw milk".
