Raw Milk Supply

HOW MUCH and WHERE to SOURCE RAW MILK PRODUCTS in Greater Vancouver, BC. Many people have contacted us to try to find information on where they can acquire raw milk products. My first choice would be a cow-op. Also, it’s legal to travel into the U.S. and purchase raw milk and return with this purchase to Canada. Here's what you may bring back, as an import exemption: "Section b, d, e and f (from Health and safety requirements prescribed in the Food and Drugs Act and Regulations at the Dairy Products Regulations), if the shipment does not exceed 20 kg and is not for sale in Canada (which raw milk is definately NOT). Another tariff exemption exists that is different - "for imported dairy products if the total product value does not exceed $20.00 and the dairy products are for personal use.

So from these documents it appears you may bring back up to $20 or 20 kg. for personal use - at http://inspection.gc.ca/english/fssa/dailai/cdnreqe.shtml. So two people, together, making a cross border trip could conceivably bring back 40 lbs. of raw milk product.
