“An eye for an eye” ... or is it “A tooth for a tooth”?

There are dentists and then there are biological dentists. The latest and most important designation is “Biological Dentist” a person who has studied the latest diagnostic systems (such as cavitat), understands the concept of “holistic” (such as testing the electrical current between the different metalk in one's mouth), uses the least amount of toxic materials for filings and root-canals and has beautiful ideas to improve efficiency and patient comfort! (laser).  But what does this REALLY mean?
I have written about my tenacious efforts to rid my body of mercury from my “silver” amalgam fillings that i had put in when we all didn't know any better. I had received a blood test from my doctor (GP), which showed no mercury! I thought I was “in the clear” and obviously he didn't know any better because my doctor failed to report was that blood tests cannot show mercury that has retreated from the blood circulation to the tissues and organs, especially to the brain and kidneys. Blood is merely the transport system - not the storage system. (The body does it’s level best to keep poisons out of harm’s way and out of the blood stream.)
I continued my reading and research and came across a book by Andrew Cutler about mercury toxicity. He is a scientific writer with a doctorate in chemistry, a bachelor’s in physics and with experience in both basic research and practical problem-solving in chemistry and medicine. He also had suffered from mercury poisoning and through his research had cured himself!
His exciting diagram (above) and explanations really grabbed my attention. This made it possible to believe the sequence of feeling better and then feeling so sick again, all the time wondering if all the amalgams had been removed? Study the Diagram and see how it works – it makes sense.
In 1995 I had 13 teeth with mercury (siver amalgams) exchanged for composites over a period of four months (one quadrant per month). However, no rubber dam or special protocol was used. I felt marvelous for three months – and all white teeth again!  No symptoms ... but suddenly ...wham! All symptoms were back.
Why? Of course, without the protective rubber dam, fragments from the amalgams, plus the vapour during drilling, re-entered my body and lodged in tissue. As Andrew Cutler writes: “Once your source of mercury exposure is removed, e.g. your amalgam fillings are replaced, your bloodstream clears of mercury and your urine and blood mercury decline during the first several months. Then your organs start to dump out their mercury and your blood and urine mercury levels rise again.” (see Diagram)
I had tried various approaches to get rid of the mercury: DMSA, DMPS and EDTA chelations - all supervised by a naturopath – all very slow and invasive. It felt as if no improvement was being made, so I stopped for awhile.
Then a friend handed me a copy of an article from the magazine Explore! For the Professional by Dr.Timothy Ray, OMD LAc(USA) who had invented, after much research, a special concoction of liquid Chlorella that he named NDF  (nano-colloidal detox factor). He found it had helped many to cleanse the mercury toxicity and said it brought a feeling of wellness soon after beginning its use. It is worth the expense and in the final analysis is probably more economical than the previous chelation treatments I had signed up for. If you are clear of all mercury amalgams then you can go-ahead to use it carefully and while being monitored by a naturopath.
With nothing to lose, I contacted an experienced doctor who believes deeply in chelation but more from the point of view of heart-health than mercury toxicity. We began very cautiously: one drop in 10ozs. of distilled water, followed by another drop in distilled water after each urination. By starting with very small quantities of NDF at first and then “ramping up” slowly avoids side-effects and symptoms. This slow process continued for four days followed by two days rest. I did this sequence of six day “blocks” several times  before increasing the dose by one drop. I have now reached 5 drops per glass!
After six weeks I could not say I felt much improvement and wondered why?
Then one morning last year, a bridge of four teeth that I had worn for 30 years fell out. A local dentist cemented it back in, but I noticed it had a gold cap on one end post and although I dislike metal in my mouth, it went back in and no more worries, especially as I was told that there was positively no more mercury in my teeth! I was so pleased.
Thankfully, the bridge fell out again!
This time I was going to have it replaced with only plastic/composites – no more metals. The new dentist I chose took X-rays and blew them up on the computer screen so I could see for myself. Lo and behold! These showed mercury embedded in the two teeth used as posts, one at each end of the bridge! I was unknowingly still walking around with mercury in my mouth and while trying to chelate! While chelating I had been pulling the mercury straight out from my teeth, thinking it was merely being pulled out form it’s hiding locations throughout my body - not from a hidden huge supply! With chelation the saliva contains chelation materials at high levels for at least several days after the treatment! The reason the previous dentist had not seen the mercury was because it was hidden under the gold crowns and which masked this on the X-rays, too!
When I went to an oral surgeon (to deal with one of the “mercuried” teeth which had been part of a post, he had little consideration for comfort and no interest in mercury toxicity and then he denied it was even there, after it had been discovered by the previous dentist. The other “post” tooth (an eye tooth), apparently needed a root canal to save it and as I asked a lot of pesky but pertinent questions - I required only white plastic, no pink colouring (it is toxic), no nickel (it is carcinogenic), and no gold or other metals (this eye tooth had to have a root canal in order to save for “post” duty), I was referred out to two other specialists.
A friend recommended another dentist and her verdict: “There was no mercury in the eye tooth, merely much decay and this decay had been mistaken for the so-called mercury in the X-ray...!#%&(@!.
It is interesting that some meridian energetically connect to other parts of the body (as in Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture). My eye tooth, for example, connects to my pituitary gland, hypothalamus, posterior portion of my right eye, sinus, tonsilla palate, right knee, right hip, lateral side of right ankle, spinal marrow, vertebrae C1, C2, Th8, Th9 and Th10, right side of my liver, gall bladder, right deltoid and anterior serratus. I can attest to the fact that each of these areas in my body had been challenged for some time. Every biological dentist has a chart that shows the paths of the meridians and the corresponding teeth.Tthey will be happy to show you.
I learned from another beautifully written book by a woman who has been in dentistry and integrative medicine for 30 years. Her experience included being a 911 ambulance attendant and 4 years working with international air ambulance transport.
